Promote Effective COmmunication of ecological DAta Through Art
ECO-DATA is an Erasmus+ KA2 project that supports secondary school students (aged 14–18) in understanding and communicating climate change through environmental data and artistic expression. The project integrates STEM and Art (STEAM) through hands-on activities in which students collect environmental data – particularly on aquatic ecosystems– using IoT technologies. Through creative laboratories, scientific data are transformed into artistic outputs, allowing students to interpret complex information in a clear and engaging way, developing ecological and digital skills, enhancing critical thinking, creativity, and communication abilities, and fostering active participation in addressing environmental challenges.
Results:
- ECO-DATA Educational Toolkit based on GreenComp, ScienPoComp, InPoCompand innovative teaching methodologies to integrate blue ecosystem education into both curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Training workshops and practical labs for teachers and students to test the Toolkit and develop skills in environmental data, sustainability, and creativity
- Digital Artworks on blue ecosystems created by students and exhibited at the Museo del Mare di Milazzo (MuMA).
- Guidelines for Students and Teachers for implementing the Toolkit in different educational settings, ensuring inclusivity and adaptability.
