S.O.I.L. - Sensing Outer Identities Landscape
Project Title: Sensing Outer Identities Landscape
Acronym: S.O.I.L.
Project number: This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N. 101070421.
S.O.I.L. is a project selected under the MUSAE Innovative Second Open Call, funded by Horizon Europe. The initiative aims to develop a wearable device that creates a sensory bridge between the human body and the landscapes where food is produced, transmitting and amplifying environmental data flows.
Through sonification and physicalization of data, the project makes invisible environmental variations—such as sound frequencies, humidity changes, or electromagnetic waves—perceptible to human senses. The goal is to strengthen our sensory connection with ecosystems, allowing us to experience the body as an integral part of the landscape.
Results:
- Development of innovative wearable devices to enhance the perception of environmental data through sonification and physicalization.
- Development of IOT devices for data collection from the ground and visualization on dedicated platforms.
- Creation of a sensory interface that transmits invisible environmental variations (humidity, sound frequencies, electromagnetic waves) to the human body.
- Testing and validation in real environments, involving experts, artists, and researchers to assess the effectiveness of the devices .
