EIT Food - TEST FARM

Project Title: Field testing of the CLAUS device in the EIT Food Test Farms program 

Acronym: TestFarm 

The project is funded by the EIT Food Test Farms program, supported by the European Union. The initiative aims to connect agritech startups with farmers to test and validate innovative technologies in real-world agricultural settings. Uptoearth Italia is field-testing CLAUS, an advanced funicular system for vineyards designed to detect pests early, collect hyper-local data, and generate precise agricultural forecasts. 

The test is taking place in a vineyard located in Sona (VR), North-East Italy, managed with regenerative agriculture practices. The 2.3-hectare farm cultivates mainly Corvina and Rondinella varieties and is equipped with specialised machinery for sustainable soil management and in-house production of compost and fish hydrolysate. 

Expected Results:

  • Field validation of the CLAUS device: performance assessment in real agricultural conditions.
  • Farmer feedback collection: qualitative evaluation of integration with current farming practices. 
  • Technology optimisation: technical improvements based on operational insights and field data.
